Interview with Ed Power on the launch of the new John Deere E Series of machines

Image Ed Power, of John Deere Forestry Ireland was very impressed with the new models. "Based on my experience over the years from the 578 Mini Brunett back in the early 80's up to today's models, this transformation to E models is the single biggest change I have experienced", he said.  "The changes you see and feel in E models will set a standard throughout the forestry industry. Design changes have been influenced from local feedback and from working sites throughout the world. With this E model we have designed a machine to tackle the challenges for the future, not forgetting our core design and lessons learnt from the past", said an enthusiastic Ed.

Forestry: Your Frequently Asked Questions
Written by Teagasc Forestry Development officers

I am in REPs – will I still get my REPs payment on the land I plant?

Land planted with an Afforestation Grant is not eligible for a REPs payment. If you are in REPs and intend to plant some land with an Afforestation Grant you must inform the Department of Agriculture of any change in your REPs plan within six weeks of the completion of planting. If you do not inform the Department within this time period a penalty situation may arise.

Any proposed change in your REPs plan should be discussed with your REPs planner well in advance.
